Mentorship & Fellowship ProgramS

Latinx in Publishing runs several mentorship and fellowship programs to support aspiring Latinx writers and publishing professionals.

The Publishing Fellowship Program will allow aspiring Latinx publishing mentees (living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico) to shadow the process of a publishing professional. The inaugural fellow will be in editorial and will shadow an editor or senior editor, from acquisition to publication. LxP will facilitate the mentee selection process, provide networking opportunities for the selected mentee with their network of members including agents, editors, and writers, as well as conduct regular check-ins  via  LxP program officer. Learn more here.

The Work-in Progress Fellowship Program will support one fellow with a manuscript in the Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and/or Young Adult categories by pairing them with an editor to help develop a manuscript over a 10-month period. The fellow will be selected through a two-tiered process by a panel of writers and editors chosen by Latinx in Publishing in collaboration with supporting partners. Learn more here.

Writers Mentorship Program is a volunteer-based initiative that offers the opportunity for unpublished and/or unagented writers who identify as Latinx (mentees) to strengthen their craft, gain first-hand industry knowledge, and expand their professional connections through work with experienced published authors (mentors).
