LxP Writers mentorship Program:
Mentor Application
The Writers Mentorship Program is an annual initiative that runs from February 1st through October 31st. If you are interested in applying to be a mentor in the next mentorship cycle, please submit the form below. We are now accepting mentorship applications on a rolling basis!
Mentors will provide advice for accomplishing goals established by their mentee. Offer guidance based upon your professional experience—teach, discuss, challenge! Create a safe space for your mentee to ask questions and be prepared to adapt your guidance to their specific needs. Both mentor and mentee will complete an end-of-program survey.
The mentorship program will take place over the course of ten months. Mentors and mentees must schedule an hour-long meeting before the 15th of every month. The pair must submit their call and/or email schedule before the mentorship period begins. Of course, if the pair would like to meet more regularly, it is entirely up to their discretion.
QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A MENTOR
Must identify as Latinx* (does not include individuals of Spanish origin)
Must have published at least one book prior to February 2021
Must be located in the U.S. during the course of the program
Must be available to dedicate one hour per month for a minimum of ten months
*Latinx in Publishing defines “Latinx” as persons originating from, descendant from, or citizens of Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
